For all of you animal lovers, get ready to fall in love with Batman who is a sweet 10-year-old Yorkie.
He started coughing and it didn’t seem to get any better despite my best efforts. I took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with Kennel Cough. He may have caught it while out on walks or playing with his dog pals.
The doc gave him antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. He felt better immediately once the inflammation was less. Although we are aware that inflammation can play havoc with our own health, it’s important to remember that same is true of our furry friends.
It brought to mind that in my Olive Oil course, Dr. Gary Beauchamp taught us that Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is as potent an anti-inflammatory as ibuprofen. He also said that eating EVOO every day has the same effect on the body as taking a baby aspirin every day.
Now, while I would not suggest anyone stopping his or her doctor’s advice, it is interesting to know that while you cook and eat, you can naturally get a potent anti-inflammatory.
For more information, the link below discusses Dr. Beauchamp’s discovery.
With the knowledge I have now, every time I pour Olive Oil in my pan or on my salad, I feel like I am giving my internal organs a kiss. Sounds corny, I know, but I really feel like I’m giving my body a treat as well as my taste buds.
How do you feel when you use Olive Oil?
Ciao for now,
